God’s promise of land to Jews has deep pull on secular Israelis
By Rachel Elboim-DrorAlthough most of the Jewish population of Israel is secular and therefore seemingly unaffected politically by God’s promise of the land to Abraham in Genesis, it appears the divine promise that “I will give unto thee and to thy seed after thee the land of thy sojournings” holds ancient power. The pull is unconscious for most but very deep, which has an effect on most Israelis.
The influence of this justification for our tie to the land on the secular population rises emotionally above all other rights to ownership of the Land of Israel. This phenomenon reveals one of the fundamental contradictions of Israeli society, which has been with the Zionist movement since its inception.

Yes, the United Nations has designated November 28, 2009, this coming Saturday, as “International Solidarity Day” with the Palestinians! Their anti-Israel tactices have included the “boycotting” of ALL Israeli products and urging people around the world to do so!
Imagine – the UN has decided to support the terrorists of Fatah and Hamas instead of the only true democratic State in the Middle East – ISRAEL!
We have a suggestion for all of our readers – Why not plan to buy Israeli products on this coming day of November 28 (Saturday) and call it “INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SOLIDARITY AND SUPPORT WITH THE NATION OF ISRAEL” [...]

(Israel National News)What a breath of fresh air and common sense! When in recent years has a leading American public figure made such a bold and supportive statement on behalf of the right of the Jewish people to settle their homeland?
Though she is regularly besmirched and mocked by the Left, former Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin is proving to be one tough cookie.
In a series of media interviews to promote her new book, Going Rogue, the former Governor of Alaska has been tackling a wide range of subjects, offering timely criticism of the Obama administration’s misguided domestic and foreign policies.
But perhaps the bravest comment that she made all week had to do with Israel. Asked by Barbara Walters what she thought of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, here is what Palin had to say:
“I disagree with the Obama administration on that. I believe that the Jewish settlements should be allowed to be expanded upon, because that population of Israel is going to grow. More and more Jewish people will be flocking to Israel in the days and weeks and months ahead. And I don’t think that the Obama administration has any right to tell Israel that the Jewish settlements cannot expand.”

Israel ranks No. 32 least corrupt country in the world
Israel ranks 32 out of 180 on the list of the world’s corrupt countries, according to a study released by the International Transparency Organization on Tuesday.
The ranking is one spot lower than last year’s, apparently due to the election of a new government and the incarceration of former ministers Shlomo Benizri and Abraham Hirchson.
In 2007 the country was ranked 30, and in 2006, 34 – the lower the ranking, the more corrupt a country is considered to be.

What’s going on?
Russia and Iran allies? Turkey turning on Israel and siding with Iran. Russia playing behind the scenes giving nuclear know-how and weapons for an attack on Israel? Mismatched countries now united by their Islamic hatred and jealousy of the Jews. Israel discovering exceeding wealth in natural gas? This all sounds very familiar, like I read it somewhere in the Bible. Indeed I did, in the book of Ezekiel, a prophet who wrote God’s prophetic word down almost 2,600 years ago.

General Assembly has approved a Human Rights Council resolution endorsing the one-sided, biased report of Judge Richard Goldstone accusing Israel of “War Crimes.” The General Assembly recommended that the resolution should now be considered by the U.N. Security Council. Act now to prevent the Security Council from approving this resolution.

by Hana Levi Julian(IsraelNN.com) A very special exhibition opens next week in Jerusalem, revealing to the public for the first time all of the ancient coins uncovered in excavations at the foot of the Temple Mount.
The exhibit was organized by the Israel Antiquities Authority and the East Jerusalem Development Company with funding from the William Davidson and Estanne Fawer Foundation. It is intended to be the first of several exhibitions to be presented at the Davidson Center in the Jerusalem Archaeological Garden.

A fascinating pronouncement has been issued by the body of the same name that once made the most significant judgment of history to this point. The modern incarnation of the Sanhedrin, an initiative of recent years to recreate the traditional supreme legal tribunal in Judaism, sternly forewarned the United Nations Security Council of judgment to come. The Sanhedrin’s invective against the world body of nations stems from the UN issuing and standing by the Goldstone Commission condemnation that Israel committed war crimes during its anti-terror Cast Lead offensive in Gaza early this year.
The Sanhedrin letter to the UN expressed that the Goldstone Commission report was holding Israel up as guilty of war crimes in the Jewish state’s efforts to combat terrorism. This, while the nation was fighting the same enemies as delineated within the war on terrorism in which the civilized world has supposedly been engaged for years.
The letter stated that the Sanhedrin issued an injunction prohibiting any UN institutions from deliberating on such matters as expressed in the Goldstone report.

Who Owns the Land of Israel Today?

The answer to this question is fiercely debated between the Jews and Arabs who live in Israel and their surrounding neighbor states. It seems as though the entire world gets involved when it comes to the ownership of the land of Israel. It is rather significant that not a single country sides with the territorial boundaries God ordained and preserved in His Word. The deed to the land of Israel clearly states that the Jews are the original and only legitimate owners defined by geographical references. Genesis 15:18 says:
“In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.”
Notice that this resolution is written in the past tense,
“…have I given this land….”
Of course, the world disregards what the Bible says about this land and its people, so let’s look at it from a political perspective.

“The UN General Assembly approved on Thursday an Arab-backed resolution endorsing the Goldstone Report, paving the way for the matter to be sent to the Security Council,” reports the Jerusalem Post. “A total of 114 nations voted in favor of the resolution and 18 voted against it, with 44 members abstaining.”
How is it possible that Israel only has 17 other true friends in the world, out of 192 countries?

In a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and the UN’s member states, the Sanhedrin warns that continued consideration of what it calls the “hostile, fallacious, and malicious” Goldstone document will bring upon the world the catastrophic events described in the Bible’s Book of Joel, Chapter 4.

WARSAW (AP) — The memorial museum at Auschwitz has launched a Facebook page hoping that the popular social-neworking site will help it reach young people around the globe and engage them in discussions about the former Nazi death camp and the Holocaust…
It had to happen. The Holocaust is now on Facebook. From enormity into classroom discussion topic. It’s the standard modern metamorphosis. Awe has given way to science, horror to the antiseptic dissection of it. Modernity means trivialization.
Now we have Holocaust Studies. Just as we have American/Black/Jewish/Women’s/ Middle East Studies. Have you noticed? The addition of Studies to any discipline has a way of ending it as a discipline. And marks its beginning as … what? Fad, obsession, ceremonial observance, group therapy? All of the above and vaporous more?
The process is familiar by now. It happened long ago to the Holocaust. Something singular, ineffable, monstrous … is turned into nothing distinctive, quite discussable, almost cut-and-dried. The pain too deep to be voiced, all the pity and sorrow and shame and anguish have been transmuted into … what, exactly? Another pseudo-science? College major? Genocide like any other? Call it Holocaust 101.
