Palestinian official: Western Wall not Jewish
An official Palestinian report claiming that a key Jewish holy site — Jerusalem’s Western Wall — has no religious significance to Jews evoked an angry response from Israelis Wednesday, threatening to further inflame tensions over the disputed city.
Decades of archaeology have shown that the Western Wall, the holiest place where Jews can pray, was a retaining wall of the compound where the two biblical Jewish Temples stood 20 centuries ago. The Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, Islam’s third-holiest site, is built atop the ruins.

A hawkish pro-Israel group today filed a lawsuit against the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service containing the explosive allegation that the IRS is devoting special scrutiny to pro-Israel groups whose policies conflict with that of the administration.The group Z Street, intended as a conservative Zionist answer to the liberal J Street, says in its complaint that its counsel was informed that its status as a tax-exempt group was delayed, and could be denied, because of that scrutiny.

CANADA TO BOYCOTT DURBAN CONFERENCE, SAYS IT “SCAPEGOATS” ISRAEL!

Speaking at a press conference and quoted in AFP, Kenney said: “Our government has lost faith in the Durban process. We will not be part of this event, which commemorates an agenda that promotes racism rather than combats it.”
Kenney called the conference a “charade” and a “hatefest”, and said that it is essentially all about criticizing Israel. “The government of Canada will not lend Canada’s good name to the organized exercise in scapegoating (Israel) that is the Durban process.”

Why bless Israel? When God made the covenant with Abraham, He spoke the following, “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” – Genesis 12:3. God was not only referring to Abraham as an individual, He was also referring to Abraham’s descendants, which are the Jews. Therefore, we are commanded to not only bless the physical nation of Israel in the Middle East but to also bless all Jews throughout the world. When God made His promise to Abraham, He also made a promise to the entire world that He would bless anyone that blesses Israel.

Jack Kinsella – Omega Letter EditorIn spite of the fact that most Israelis believed at the time that Bill Clinton was a great friend to Israel, until Bill Clinton presided over the Oslo signing on the lawn of the Rose Garden in 1993, Israel controlled all of the West Bank, all of Gaza, all of the Golan Heights and was largely considered by the Arab world to be invincible.
Before an enemy could hope to push through to Jerusalem, it would have to fight all the way through the West Bank from the Jordan, all the way through the Golan from Syria, all the way across the Gaza Strip from Egypt, and still be strong enough to make it across the Green Line to link up with the armies approaching from the other directions.

Another text for 15 year-olds teaches that thieves who break Sharia law should have their hands cut off for a first offence and their feet amputated for a subsequent crime. Teenagers are presented with diagrams showing where the cuts should be made.

Kathryn Blaze Carlson, National Post · Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010David Suzuki and a Vancouver MLA have withdrawn their endorsement of a group sponsoring George Galloway’s upcoming talk in Vancouver, just as the pastor of the church rented for the event voiced concerns that the controversial former British MP will “pour rhetorical oil on the fire.”
The Reverend Gary Paterson, of St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church, is distancing his church from the talk and said he will soon release a statement clarifying that the event is not a church function. Mr. Galloway was previously banned from entering Canada but is currently on a speaking tour.

Posted: November 22, 2010Israel’s outgoing military intelligence chief, Major General Amos Yadlin, made three remarkable statements in testimony to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, reports Haaretz:
1. ISRAEL IS MORE SECURE THAN EVER BEFORE — “The recent security calm is unprecedented,” Yadlin told the parliamentary committee. Despite emerging and serious threats from Iran and her Radical Islamic allies, for the moment Israel is enjoying a period of remarkable calm in light of the peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan, almost no terrorism emanating out of the West Bank, relative calm in Gaza in the aftermath of Operation Cast Lead, relatively calm borders for the last four years with Lebanon and Syria, and a regime change in Iraq that led to a nascent but improving democracy. “Israel’s deterrence is very strong but the lull [in regional violence] shouldn’t mislead anyone, the opposite is true. Our enemies are strengthening and arming,” Yadlin added. Does this period qualify as Jews living “securely” in the land of Israel prior to the rise of a Russian-Iranian led coalition that will launch the “War of Gog and Magog” again Israel in the “last days,” as foretold in Ezekiel 38-39? For the moment, it is, in my view, too early to draw a conclusion one way or the other, but it is certainly worth careful consideration.

Yesterday was the last service the Christian Congregation “Fathers House” held at Gwernymynydd Village Centre, North Wales as a consequence of being evicted after 11 years because the management Committee disagreed with their beliefs concerning Israel.
“Fathers House” stands firm in their support of Israel and belief that the land of Israel was given to the Jewish people as an everlasting possession in accordance with the Scriptures. Fathers House are not willing to compromise in expounding these scriptures and in making their support for the Jewish people and the establishment of Israel widely known through many mediums including the Fathers House Website and the Christians For Zion Website.

While preparing to speak at a Bible prophecy conference in Canada last month, I discovered some interesting facts and figures about those fellow North Americans. I also learned of stark contrasts between the leadership of Israel’s North American key present-day “proponents.”
I put the word “proponents” in quotation marks because support for the Jewish state is subject to slippage these days as never before. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a true proponent of that prophetic nation. The North American continent encompasses the two national entities that have most been supportive of Israel’s right to exist – the United States of America and Canada. This support is in contravention to attitudes and policies of most other nations of the world. The United Nations pulses with collective hatred for the Jewish state. Pressures are on the rise to change the North American support for Israel from one that is more and more tenuous to that of support for enemies blood-vowed to wipe the Jews from the earth.

Mainstream media, led by Israel’s anti-nationalist newspapers, are trying to make a crisis out of previously approved homes for Jews in Jerusalem, Cabinet Secretary Tzvi Hauser told Voice of Israel government radio Wednesday morning. Foreign media often take their cue on local issues from colleagues in the country they are covering.
Hauser stated that building for Jews in the capital will continue. He added that there is no crisis between Israel and the United States over the routine public notice of another stage in the long bureaucratic process before construction begins on more than 1,000 new homes in Har Homa in southern Jerusalem.

Is Jerusalem really the center of the world?Nathan Jones: We are told in the book of Ezekiel in two places that Jerusalem is the center of the world. For example, in Ezekiel 5:5, Jeremiah quotes God as saying, “This is Jerusalem; I have set her at the center of the nations.” And again, in Ezekiel 38:12, the Jewish people are referred to as the people who live at the “center of the world.” And actually, the literal Hebrew reads, “the navel of the world.”

The European Jewish Congress warns that some Jewish communities in Europe are “teetering on the brink” due to national endorsement or neglect of anti-Semitism.
The EJC maintains that a recent wave of anti-Semitism, some of which was officially sanctioned, has left some Jewish communities in grave danger. EJC President Dr. Moshe Kantor sums up: “We are entering a very dark period for Jews in Europe.”
Recent instances of official anti-Semitism include a grave incident that occurred in Antwerp, Belgium. A respected government-funded Catholic school, the College of the Sacred Heart, hosted a “Palestine Day,” replete with anti-Semitic references and activities for youngsters. One stall at the event was entitled “Throw the soldiers into the sea,” and children were invited to throw replicas of Israeli soldiers into two large tanks of water.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Monday delivered a pro-Israel speech at a parliamentary conference which dealt with ways to fight anti-Semitism. Harper implied that his country did not secure a seat at the United Nations Security Council due to its failure to cooperate with an anti-Israel policy.
The Canadian prime minister stressed that while there is room for fair criticism against the Israeli government, Canada is obligated to come to the Jewish state’s defense when it is attacked by others.

UN declares Rachel’s Tomb to be a mosque
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) decided last week to relabel as an Islamic mosque the tomb of Rachel, one of Israel’s matriarchs, and demanded that Israel remove the site from its National Heritage list.
UNESCO also said Israel had no right to add the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron, where most of the rest of Israel’s patriarchs and matriarchs are buried, to the National Heritage list.
Israel responded on Wednesday by suspending all cooperation with UNESCO. Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said the suspension will remain in place until UNESCO reverses its decision.
