Chrislam? Christian Palestinianism??

Chrislam? Christian Palestinianism??

by McMahon, T. A.
The Berean Call

Whenever we, as biblical Christians, think that things couldn’t possibly become more preposterous in Christendom, we need to call to mind the Scriptures that tell us that the time will come when Christians will not endure sound doctrine, and many will corrupt the Word of God (2 Timothy:4:3; 2 Corinthian 2:17; 2 Peter:3:16). The Apostle Paul further declares to Timothy that those who bring such doctrines shall turn people away from the truth to fables, that is, myths, of their own invention (2 Timothy:4:4; Titus:1:14). Today, such teachings and practices are increasing at a staggering rate—practices that range from the patently absurd to the insidious, even menacingly dangerous, both spiritually and physically.

Chrislam ? That attempt to combine Christianity and Islam in a common worship service would be a bad joke if it were a joking matter, but it’s far from it. As I understand it, this teaching began as a way to help stop the genocide and bring peace between Muslims and Christians in Africa. Sincere in its concern, no doubt, yet sincerely wrong. Muslims who truly follow the Qur’an, and Christians who believe what the Bible presents, regard Chrislam as a blasphemous contradiction of their beliefs.

Why? The differences, which are very apparent, cannot be reconciled…

Bethlehem to Host Church Conference Which Demonizes Israel

Bethlehem to Host Church Conference Which Demonizes Israel
Theologians who are breathing new life into a kind of demonology which criminalizes all Israelis will meet in Bethlehem in March.
By Giulio Meotti

Next March, the Bible College in Bethlehem will host dozens of US theologians, activists and ministries for the “Christ at the Checkpoint 2012 Conference”.

It is to be a major religious and political event meant to demonize Israel and to support the Palestinian Intifada against the “ethnocentric” Jewish State.

The impressive range of Christian theologians and pastors from many churches located in the United States make the gravity of the upcoming conference clear.

Samuel Rodriguez, President of the US National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, is a speaker.

Also attending are popular US preacher and “spiritual adviser” to Bill Clinton, Tony Campolo, and President of the World Evangelical Alliance and Asia Evangelical Alliance, Sang-Bok David Kim.

Israel – dividing the Church, or defining it?

Israel – dividing the Church, or defining it?
Posted on Wednesday 30 November 2011

Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:6-8)

The question could hardly have graver consequences and so is not easily asked. But it is hanging right out there and, with increasing stridency, demanding a response.

Is the issue of Israel (the people and the land) – whether we stand with or against it – ultimately creating irreversible division in the world wide Christian community?

Debating Israel and The Church

Debating Israel and The Church
Israel – Middle East
Friday, November 25, 2011
Alf Cengia

Last week I watched the Revelation debate between Dr. Calvin Smith and Stephen Sizer on the internet, which was originally presented on live television on the 9th November 2011. The subject was “Has the Church Replaced Israel?

Now I have mixed feelings about these events. A skillful debater can be dead wrong and yet come across as very convincing. If his opponent cannot counter an argument – even when it is fallacious – then the skillful debater can sway a crowd’s support to his own cause.

Targeting Evangelicals for ‘Palestine’

Targeting Evangelicals for ‘Palestine’

Certain that U.S. support for Israel depends on pro-Israel American evangelicals, the Religious and Evangelical Left are targeting evangelicals with their latest arguments for discrediting Israel.

This week, “Evangelicals for Middle East Understanding” (EMEU) convened at a San Francisco Presbyterian church to hash out their latest anti-Israel strategies. Ostensibly the problem as they identify it is that too many U.S. evangelicals are wedded to Old Testament promises of a perpetual Promised Land for the Jews. Anti-Israel activists like to showcase besieged Middle East Christians as arguments against a Jewish Israel, as though Judaism rather than radical Islam were their chief threat. They also like to portray Christian Zionists as motivated by apocalyptic end-times scenarios.

Reply to International Christian Embassy Jerusalem – Israel and the Jews need Yeshua

International Christian Embassy Jerusalem

Greetings in Yeshua and thank you for your e mail.

As a believer in born again believer in Yeshua with an Israeli-Jewish family and a son who served in combat in the IDF (my own service was brief), it is indeed my prayer that the Lord will give ICEJ eyes to see that our Jewish people are perishing without a saving faith in the Messiah Yeshua, that Israel is heading to the Time of Jacob’s Trouble to make a covenant with death by a treaty with the Antichrist, and that the Talmudic Judaism of the rabbis rejecting Yeshua is a false religion.

Beck’s Jerusalem conference denounced

Beck’s Jerusalem conference denounced

A journalist and biblical prophecy teacher doesn’t think evangelical Christians should take part in talk-show icon Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Courage” rally in Jerusalem this summer.

Beck explains on his website that the event will be similar to last summer’s “Restore Honor” rally in Washington, DC, which drew hundreds of thousands of people to the nation’s capital. He says, “It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths, all around the world.”

Dr. Jimmy DeYoung, host of the Prophecy Today Radio Network, travels the world to educate the Body of Christ about the future events foretold in the Bible. While he agrees with Beck politically, he does not agree that the talk-show icon should be viewed as a spiritual leader.

Did ‘Son of Hamas’ Mosab Yousef dupe Christian Zionists?

Did ‘Son of Hamas’ Mosab Yousef dupe Christian Zionists?

When Mosab Yousef, the son of a prominent Hamas leader, converted to Christianity and wrote a book chronicling his years of clandestine collaboration with Israeli security forces, he became a sensation among pro-Israel Christians in his adoptive homeland of America.

But now, other former Palestinian terrorists-turned-Evangelical Christians are accusing Mosab of duping pro-Israel churches for his own personal profit or, worse, in order to negatively influence their view of the Jewish state.

Response to the Methodists Regarding Their Call for Israel Boycott

Response to the Methodists Regarding Their Call for Israel Boycott

To: *The General Secretary of the Methodist Church and Connexial Team*.

Dear Sir,

In your annual conference you have passed a policy calling for a boycott of goods from “illegal” Israeli West Bank settlements”.You claim this is not anti-Semitic. But how else do you explain this strange obsession with Israel?

What about the Chinese occupation of Tibet, or the Sudanese slaughter in Darfur, persecution in Zimbabwe and elsewhere? Politically, one could probably compile a case for a boycott against just about every country on the planet, but the only country in the world being subjected to a call for a boycott is Israel.

Paganism and the Church’s separation with her Jewish Roots

To be released soon -Three DVD’s entitled Paganism in The Church.

For over 1700 years Christendom has followed many pagan practices which have caused believers to become separated from their Jewish roots.

Paganism caused Christendom to teach that the Church replaced Israel and also that Christendom’s leaders had the power to change the practices of worship which God gave to the Jews and which the early Church followed.

Holocaust Historians conclude that without Christendom the Holocaust could never have taken place and Mike Fryer Director of Christians for Zion concludes that the introduction of paganism into the early Church played a major role in opening this anti-Semitic doorway which has enabled Christendom to become Israel’s enemy.

Christians for Zion are currently producing a set of three DVD’s providing teaching by Mike Fryer on the subject of Paganism in The Church. These DVD’s will be available at the end of May. Please watch out for their release.

Christian Palestinianism

Christian Palestinianism

By Jim Fletcher
Prophecy Matters

For some time, I have been raising the alarm that evangelical Christianity has been infiltrated by theological leftists. Among other things, this impacts our nation’s view of Israel.

Recently, I was made aware of a movement of young evangelicals who are embracing what the British lecturer Paul Wilkinson calls “Christian Palestinianism.” Loosely, this means a Christian who supports the Palestinian Arabs, and dismisses Jewish claims to the land. Obviously, these “Millennial Generation” Christians (18-34) do not embrace Bible prophecy. Their worldview is different.

A battle for Israel is being fought in the United States right now. Traditionally, Americans have supported the Jewish state, and the U.S. has always been one of the few friendly havens for Jews. I believe that is changing.

David Wilkerson, Lover of Israel, Dies in Car Accident

David Wilkerson, Lover of Israel, Dies in Car Accident

Israel lost a dear Christian friend and supporter on Wednesday when David Wilkerson, pastor of Times Square Church in New York City, was killed in a tragic car accident near Dallas, Texas.

Wilkerson is perhaps best known abroad for his 1963 book “The Cross and the Switchblade,” which chronicled his earlier years ministering to drug addicts and gang members in New York.

The book was eventually made into a hit movie starring Pat Boone, another staunch Christian supporter of Israel.

In Defence of Israel?

In Defence of Israel?
Prof. Johan Malan, Mossel Bay (March 2011)

Dr. Mike Evans of the Jerusalem Prayer Team (JPT) issued a strong appeal for international support for Israel in the face of a planned declaration of a Palestinian state in September 2011, with East Jerusalem as its capital. According to Mike, the United Nations will ratify this plan with the full support of the US and most other countries. Great concern is rightfully expressed that the implementation of the plan will seriously threaten the national interests of Israel.

The mission statement of the JPT is “To guard, defend and protect the Jewish people and Eretz Yisrael until Israel is secure, and until the Redeemer comes to Zion.” Their boldness to openly refer to the coming of the Messiah is appreciated. They also proclaim this truth on their website where they say: “When we are praying for the peace of Jerusalem we are praying for the Lord to return” (www.jpteam.org).They also rightly warn the hostile nations which are sacrificing Jerusalem and Israel on the altar of Palestinian statehood: “God pronounces judgement on all nations that come against Jerusalem.”

However, in their strong drive to ensure a biblically just solution to the Middle East crisis which will protect Israel’s national interests, JPT neglects to mention the spiritual obligation on Israel to get into the right relationship with their own Messiah. If we do not do this in a loving but very explicit way, all our efforts to support Israel will be in vain. It is simply not enough for JPT to say on their website that there will be times of spiritual refreshing among the Gentiles, thereby referring to a big, end-time revival which will also impact Israel and lead to their salvation. What is the responsibility of true Christians in this regard?

Israeli media stands up for Messianic Jews

Israeli media stands up for Messianic Jews

Average Israelis may be indifferent at best toward their Jesus-following Jewish brethren, but their distaste for the domineering attitude and behavior of many in the Orthodox Jewish community has resulted in a new phenomenon of average “secular” Israelis coming to the defense of Messianic Jews.

Nowhere has this been more pronounced than in the Israeli media, which over the past several years has on numerous occasion portrayed Messianic Israelis in a positive light.

The latest occurrence of this was on Wednesday evening, when Israel Channel One’s “Second Look” program compared local Messianic Jews to the anti-missionary group Yad L’Achim, which has dedicated itself to harassing and driving out believers in Yeshua (Jesus).

Ancient Books Uncovered in Jordan May Date to Start of Christianity

Ancient Books Uncovered in Jordan May Date to Start of Christianity

One of the largest and best-preserved collections of ancient sealed books has been discovered in a cave in Jordan and are believed to be some of the earliest Christian documents, according to the BBC.

The 70 tiny books could date back to the first century. Carbon dating tests found that a piece of leather found with the scrolls was over 2000 years old.

Experts say the books, made of lead and copper and bound by rings, may be more significant than the Dead Sea Scrolls, BBC reports.

The war started a long time ago…

THE TRUTH ABOUT ISLAM

By Dr. Moshe Sharon, Professor of Islamic History at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel

The war started a long time ago between two civilizations; one based on the Bible, and the other based on the Koran. There is no “fundamental Islam.” “Fundamentalism” is a word that came from the Christian religion and indicated faith in the Bible and what it teaches. Fundamental Christianity does not mean going around and killing people. There is non “fundamental Islam.”

All of a sudden we see that the greatest interpreters of Islam are politicians in the western world. They know better than all speakers in the mosques who deliver terrible sermons against anything that is either Christian or Jewish. These western politicians “know” that there is good Islam and bad Islam. They “know” how to differentiate between the two, except that none of them know how to read a word of Arabic!

EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN KILLED IN JERUSALEM BOMBING: Netanyahu in Moscow
Posted: March 24, 2011 by joelcrosenberg in Uncategorized

The woman who was killed in yesterday’s horrific terrorist bombing in central Jerusalem was an evangelical Christian tourist from Great Britain. IMPORTANT NOTICE: The scheduled speakers at next week’s symposium at Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C. (Canada) include replacement theologians, anti-Israel Christians from the Middle East, and some professors from Qatar University. These “experts” will be given free reign to influence impressionable students at TWU. As there are no speakers scheduled to present the pro-Israel side, it is important for those who live in the area and care about Israel and the Word of God to show up and use this opportunity to share the truth.

Christian Palestinianism and the anti-Israel Crusade

“Prophets Who Prophesy Lies In My Name”

Christian Palestinianism and the anti-Israel Crusade
By Paul Wilkinson

Introduction

This document is based on a Powerpoint presentation I gave on December 7, 2010, at the 19th Annual Pre-Trib Study Group Conference in Dallas/Fort Worth (available from the address at the end of the document). The title was taken from the words spoken by the LORD to Jeremiah about the false prophets of Israel. I believe that an application of this prophecy can be made to those who believe and teach that God has rejected Israel and replaced her with the Church, and who give political, economic, and theological expression to this erroneous belief…

Televangelist Joel Osteen Visits Israel, Expresses Love and Support

Televangelist Joel Osteen Visits Israel, Expresses Love and Support
By Ryan Jones
Israel Today

Joel Osteen and his wife Victoria, pastors of the 43,000-member Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, are in Israel this week to express their love and support for the Jewish people and their state.

Osteen, who is watched by an estimated seven million television viewers every week, had for years been reluctant to publicly support Israel. According to some reports, he had been pressed by other leading evangelists in the past to publicly back the Jewish state, but had chosen not to.

It is unclear what caused the change, but a few months ago, Osteen invited the Israeli consul general in Houston to his church and announced that he would be leading a group to Israel.

An important Mideast development that has largely been ignored for years by Western media, the plight and decline of Christian communities, jumped to the front pages of Canadian newspapers last week.

Post-Zionist Theology is an Attack on God’s Character

Post-Zionist Theology is an Attack on God’s Character

Surrounding by enemies on all sides, both literally and figuratively, Israel has long known that it can count on the Evangelical Christian Church as a stalwart ally, a shield against an increasingly aggressive campaign to reverse this nation’s divine restoration.

But that is starting to change. Within the Evangelical Church itself there is a growing trend toward a different view of Israel, one that questions whether or not the modern State of Israel has anything at all to do with God’s Word and His plans of redemption. At the forefront of that movement has been the documentary-style film “With God on Our Side,” which takes aim at Christians who use the Bible to justify their support of the Jewish state.

With very little mainstream Evangelical response to the film, Eliyahu Ben-Haim, director of Intercessors for Israel, felt compelled to do so in his booklet “Setting the Record Straight.”

God’s Judgment on America, the Global Rise of Anti-Semitism and the Call to Stand with Israel

God’s Judgment on America, the Global Rise of Anti-Semitism and the Call to Stand with Israel

By Paul McGuire

Anti-Semitism is sweeping Europe, the U.S., the Middle East and many regions of the world. Israel is in greater danger than at any time since the rise of the Third Reich in the 1930’s. Iran and Radical Islam threaten Israel’s very existence while the White House is aggressively making plans to divide Israel and create a Palestinian State. In addition, many so-called Christian Churches are embracing Replacement Theology. Replacement Theology teaches that the Church has replaced Israel. A wide spectrum of Protestant, Catholic and Emergent Church’s has embraced that deep spiritual deception.

Why Bless Israel?

Why Bless Israel?
By Brian C Thomas

Introduction

Why bless Israel? When God made the covenant with Abraham, He spoke the following, “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” – Genesis 12:3. God was not only referring to Abraham as an individual, He was also referring to Abraham’s descendants, which are the Jews. Therefore, we are commanded to not only bless the physical nation of Israel in the Middle East but to also bless all Jews throughout the world. When God made His promise to Abraham, He also made a promise to the entire world that He would bless anyone that blesses Israel.

In spite of the fact that most Israelis believed at the time that Bill Clinton was a great friend to Israel, until Bill Clinton presided over the Oslo signing on the lawn of the Rose Garden in 1993, Israel controlled all of the West Bank, all of Gaza, all of the Golan Heights and was largely considered by the Arab world to be invincible.

Before an enemy could hope to push through to Jerusalem, it would have to fight all the way through the West Bank from the Jordan, all the way through the Golan from Syria, all the way across the Gaza Strip from Egypt, and still be strong enough to make it across the Green Line to link up with the armies approaching from the other directions.

Christian Congregation evicted for supporting Israel

Yesterday was the last service the Christian Congregation “Fathers House” held at Gwernymynydd Village Centre, North Wales as a consequence of being evicted after 11 years because the management Committee disagreed with their beliefs concerning Israel.

“Fathers House” stands firm in their support of Israel and belief that the land of Israel was given to the Jewish people as an everlasting possession in accordance with the Scriptures. Fathers House are not willing to compromise in expounding these scriptures and in making their support for the Jewish people and the establishment of Israel widely known through many mediums including the Fathers House Website and the Christians For Zion Website.

WHAT HAPPENED IN 70 AD?

WHAT HAPPENED IN 70 AD?
November 10th, 2010

Subject: WHAT HAPPENED IN 70 AD?
Scripture: Matthew 24:1-2; Luke 21:20-24

The word “preterist” is from a Latin word meaning “past.” Those who adhere to this viewpoint of Bible prophecy argue that the prophecies of the Olivet Discourse and the Book of Revelation were fulfilled in the events of the 70 AD destruction of Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple. Preterists believe that the Second Coming of Christ occurred in 70 AD in the sense of judgment, and that the result of this destruction of Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple is the replacement of the nation of Israel with the Church.

Turning Churches Against Israel

Turning Churches Against Israel

“With God on Our Side,” the new anti-Israel movie produced by an evangelical pastor and aimed at evangelical audiences, is touring America this month, with anti-Israel British Anglican priest Stephen Sizer in tow. On October 27, it was originally going to be screened in the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, doubtless hoping to appeal to young evangelical Congressional staffers, whose numbers and influence likely will increase in the new Congress. Now, for whatever reason, it instead will screen at a Lutheran church on Capitol Hill….

UK gov. officials urged to oppose Christian Zionism

A film produced earlier this year that depicts Christian Zionism as a fanatical and dangerous ideology is gaining popularity in the UK, and is even being peddled to government ministers in an effort to snuff out the influence of grassroots Christian support for the Jewish state.

A municipal councillor in Northern Ireland notified Israel Today that he and many other local and national officials have been invited to attend a screening of the film “With God on Our Side” on November 11 at Queens University in Belfast. The event is being sponsored by The Ireland-Palestine Alliance.

Defending the Jewish State

Defending the Jewish State

The Church of England has declined to pursue anti-Israel divestment. But the smaller and less prudent British Methodist Church has just voted full speed ahead at its recent governing Conference to boycott Israeli products that profit from the “occupation,” drawing the condemnation of Britain’s chief rabbi, Baron Jonathan Sacks.

Lord Sacks decried the Methodist anti-Israel initiative as “unbalanced, factually and historically flawed” with “no genuine understanding of one of the most complex conflicts in the world today. Many in both communities [Jewish and Christian] will be deeply disturbed.” He also warned that the boycott would “reverberate across the hitherto harmonious relationship between the faith communities in the UK.”
