Court orders York officials to answer questions on alleged pro-Israel bias

Ruling in professor’s defamation lawsuit means administrators cannot refuse to discuss foundation’s lobbying

Two top administrators at Toronto’s York University have been ordered to answer sensitive questions about an alleged pro-Israel orientation shared by members of a key governing body.

The order, issued by a master of the Ontario Superior Court, obligates former York president Lorna Marsden and York University Foundation chairman Paul Marcus to answer specific questions posed by lawyers representing a York history professor, David Noble, who has sued the administrators for defamation.
