Palestine: Its Origin, Composition and Future

Palestine: Its Origin, Composition and Future

Prof. Johan Malan, Mossel Bay, South Africa (February 2011)

Intense international interest in the creation of a Palestinian state within the traditional territory of Israel is heading for a climax in the very near future. Major world powers as well as international bodies are directly involved with the establishment of such a state, thereby raising its significance to a key factor in efforts to secure peace and a new balance of power in the Middle East as well as the whole world.

However, serious fears are already expressed that the entire process of promoting the emergence of Palestine will not only be to the detriment of Israel but in fact threaten its very existence. From a biblical point of view, a future world without the physically and spiritually restored Israel will be an evil world that will open the way for the global control of the Antichrist. This new world will be utterly anti-Jewish and anti-Christian.

Cairo: Anger starting to focus on Israel, US

Cairo: Anger starting to focus on Israel, US
Reporters Notebook: “Where is your democracy?” protesters ask in anti-American, anti-Mubarak rallies.

CAIRO – Saturday’s optimism on the streets of Cairo for imminent political change gave way to anger on Sunday, as thousands of demonstrators became increasingly frustrated with the lack of response from major world leaders, especially the US.

During the main protest on Sunday in downtown Cairo, one man painted a 20- meter-long message in flowing Arabic cursive that echoed across the square: “Go Away, Mubarak, you are from the Americans, and you’re working for them!”

For Israel: An unexpected Norwegian friend

‘I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse.’ – Genesis 12:3

In Norway he’s considered the odd exception – a pro-Israel newspaper editor. Four years ago Vebjørn Selbekk published Prophet Muhammad cartoons, resulting in countless death threats. In recent visit to Jewish state he explains why it is so important to him to champion Israel

State of the Union: No Mention of Israel, Barely a Mention of Iran Nuclear Threat

State of the Union: No Mention of Israel, Barely a Mention of Iran Nuclear Threat

By Joel C. Rosenberg

Did it not seem odd last night that during the State of the Union address, President Obama never once mentioned America’s historic friendship with Israel, or pledged to work together to help Israel stave off the threat of the serious Iranian nuclear threat, or work with Israel to negotiate a peace deal with the Palestinians rather than allow the Palestinians to unilaterally declare a state (as we seem to be headed for now)?

What’s more, did it not seem odd that the Iranian nuclear threat merited only one sentence in the entire address? Or that the President did nothing to encourage the pro-democracy forces in Iran? Or that the President failed to condemn the executions and tortures going on inside Iran, or their efforts to destabilize other regimes in the epicenter? It would be unlikely at this point that the President would publicly acknowledge that a cultish, genocidal form of End Times theology is driving Iranian foreign policy, but to essentially turn a blind eye to the magnitude of the problem was a mistake that I fear will come back to haunt us.

God, Judgment and the Weather: The Israel Factor

“When a nation begins to rebel against God, the first thing He will do is raise up prophetic voices to call the nation to repentance. If the nation refuses to repent, then God sends remedial judgments in many forms until because of a lack of repentance the wound becomes incurable. When the wound becomes incurable, God then moves a nation from judgment to destruction.

A new factor that I believe is producing remedial judgments upon the United States is our mistreatment of Israel which began in the early 90’s. We have failed to realize that since 1991 many of the judgments that we have experienced have been related to our mistreatment of the nation of Israel.”

IBA Close Up – Israel’s Image in the International Media

IBA Close Up – Israel’s Image in the International Media

Last night’s edition of IBA’s Close Up featured a discussion on Israel’s image in the international media. In the studio were PR professional and ex-Government Press Office employee Jason Pearlman alongside the AP’s Jerusalem bureau chief Joe Federman, who happens to be the chair of the Foreign Press Association.

I respect Joe as someone who has always been prepared to appear on panel discussions for HonestReporting Missions, arguing the case for the foreign press in a friendly and civilized fashion. However, I really can’t agree with some of the statements he made on this show.

For example, he says that the Palestinians are really on the ball, supplying foreign journalists with reactions to stories that they don’t even know have happened yet. Come on Joe – doesn’t that tell you something?! Doesn’t that make you just a little bit suspicious as to the veracity of the story?
