Award will honor student reporting on antisemitism

SAN FRANCISCO – A new award will honor student reporting on antisemitism.

The Student Free Press Association and the Institute for Jewish & Community Research are sponsoring the Gary A. Tobin Media Awards.

The Tobin Award encourages students to expose and document antisemitism first hand, pushing the issue into the public forum through both formal and informal reporting.

Original student works will be evaluated by a panel of judges that includes veteran journalists and civil rights experts. Prizes of $1,000 will be awarded in the print journalism and new media categories. Entries must be submitted by April 1.
