JERUSALEM POST EDITOR: ‘WE CAN’T FIGURE OUT WHAT HE’S DOING HERE’

Caroline Glick, Senior Contributing Editor of the Jerusalem Post said the Israeli people consider President Obama “a hostile president overall,” on “Mornings on the Mall” on WMAL-FM in Washington DC.

Appearing with Brian Wilson and myself Wednesday morning, Glick said the Israeli people “can’t figure out what he’s doing here,” when asked about the mood in Jerusalem as the President’s plane touched down for the first time in his presidency.

“Essentially his goal is to empower the un-electable, incredibly radical left in Israel to put pressure on the Israeli government for whatever concessions he wants it to make to the PLO,” said Glick in evaluating the reasons why Obama will be meeting with university students and members of the Palestinian Government during his visit.

Prime minister to present the US president with a minuscule version of both countries’ declarations of independence

In deference to the ancient custom of world leaders exchanging tchotchkes, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will bestow upon US President Barack Obama, when he arrives on Wednesday for a three-day visit, a gift — but it’s a really small one.

Obama is to receive a gold-coated silicon chip etched with the declarations of independence of Israel and the United States. The etching, 20 nanometers (0.00002 mm) deep, was done on a 0.04 square millimeter portion of the chip. The chip was affixed to a Jerusalem stone dating to the Second Temple Period (1st century BCE to 1st century CE), of the kind used to seal clay vessels.

They came to Israel to express their solidarity with the Jewish state and its Jewish people. The occasion was the fourth bi-annual leadership forum of Christians for Israel; a non-denominational Christian organization that was established in the Netherlands in the 1970s and has grown in numbers to the hundreds of thousands. Issuing “A call to repentance, a word of hope,” their statement declared that God has not terminated his everlasting covenant with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and their descendants, and that the Church has definitely not replaced Israel as God’s covenant people.
