Quote From One of Israel’s Greatest War Heroes: We Don’t Hate

To the Palestinian people of Gaza : We don’t hate you. We don’t wish you ill. We want only to live in peace side by side with you. When you come out of wherever you’ve been able to take refuge , ask yourself why Hamas never built you any shelters to protect you. They’re great at digging tunnels after all. They’ve dug them under our border , intending to murder as many of our civilians as possible; our women and children, gathered in agricultural village dining halls. Not soldiers, not warriors, but our women and children and old people.

So they’re good at building tunnels.

Why didn’t they build any for you to take shelter in?

-Major General (Ret) Avigdor Kahalani

Our world: Israel, Hamas and Obama’s foreign policy

Our world: Israel, Hamas and Obama’s foreign policy
By CAROLINE B. GLICK
29/07/2014
Americans need to be alarmed by what Obama’s actions on behalf of Hamas reveal about the general direction of American Middle East policy under his leadership.

When US President Barack Obama phoned Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday night, in the middle of a security cabinet meeting, he ended any remaining doubt regarding his policy toward Israel and Hamas.

Obama called Netanyahu while the premier was conferring with his senior ministers about how to proceed in Gaza. Some ministers counseled that Israel should continue to limit our forces to specific pinpoint operations aimed at destroying the tunnels of death that Hamas has dug throughout Gaza and into Israeli territory.

Others argued that the only way to truly destroy the tunnels, and keep them destroyed, is for Israel to retake control over the Gaza Strip.

No ministers were recommending that Israel end its operations in Gaza completely. The longer our soldiers fight, the more we learn about the vast dimensions of the Hamas’s terror arsenal, and about the Muslim Brotherhood group’s plans and strategy for using it to destabilize, demoralize and ultimately destroy Israeli society. . .

Only One Solution for Israel

‘THIS IS AN OFFENSIVE WAR’: AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CAMPAIGN TO TAKE DOWN HAMAS

GAZA BORDER, Israel– The demilitarization of Hamas is the only solution in the Israel Hamas conflict. This is the clear message here in Israel. This conflict is different than previous conflicts. “It will be ceasefire after ceasefire if you don’t demilitarize Hamas” said retired IDF General Gideon Avidor. “Hamas is not fighting to protect its people, but only to terrorize and kill Israeli’s, as long as they continue to fight against us, we must fight back.”

“The local population in Gaza understands that Hamas does nothing for them” said Avidor. “It is not only a military solution, but will take a political and economic solution” to support the people of Gaza to be free from the government of Hamas that has instilled fear and has oppressed the people since being elected in 2005. Hamas was elected in democratic elections in 2005 but never held elections again. . .

CNN PUTS FALSE NEWS OF ISRAEL REJECTING ‘CEASE-FIRE DEAL’ OVER FACES OF INJURED CHILDREN

CNN PUTS FALSE NEWS OF ISRAEL REJECTING ‘CEASE-FIRE DEAL’ OVER FACES OF INJURED CHILDREN
by JOHN NOLTE

As my colleague, senior editor-at-large Joel Pollak pointed out, Friday afternoon, CNN made a huge deal of Israel rejecting a “cease-fire deal” based on CNN’s made-up premise that there was some sort of a deal.
Pollak writes quite correctly that “there was no deal, but a mere proposal” and “there was no indication Hamas would agree to the terms.”
This deal CNN speaks of never existed. CNN is making it up because CNN knows that inaccurately reporting news of Israel walking away from a “deal” will make Israel look unreasonable and villainous.
To make matters much, much worse for Israel, CNN later broadcast a lengthy report filled with faces of injured children with a chyron blaring the lie about Israel rejecting a cease-fire deal.
I captured frames of CNN’s propaganda and posted them on Twitter. . .

The UN’s Propaganda War Against Israel

The UN’s Propaganda War Against Israel

As usual, the United Nations has the Palestinians’ back while repeatedly stabbing Israel in the back. Hamas not only uses civilian human shields in Gaza to protect its operatives and weapons. It hides behind the diplomatic propaganda shield that the UN too willingly provides.

Most notably, the United Nations kangaroo court, known officially as the Human Rights Council, has decided to launch its own investigation into Israel’s actions in Gaza. In its one-sided resolution, adopted in Geneva on July 23rd by a vote of 29 states in favor, 1 against and 17 abstentions, the Human Rights Council “condemned in the strongest terms the widespread, systematic and gross violations of international human rights and fundamental freedoms arising from the Israeli military operations carried out in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 13 June 2014.”

Israel’s Pyrrhic Moral Victory

Israel’s Pyrrhic Moral Victory

As the Israeli-Hamas conflict rages, a familiar pattern asserts itself: Israel bends over backward to demonstrate her moral innocence to the world, and the world heaps condemnation on her anyway. Israel always feels compelled to restrain her military superiority because victory in that arena means losing the battle in the arena of public opinion despite extraordinary efforts. It’s worth questioning whether the moral victory Israel is striving for accomplishes anything except to perpetuate the hostilities and ensure more Israeli deaths at the hands of Arab terrorists.

Forced to defend herself, but under the microscope of worldwide scrutiny, Israel has gone to extreme lengths to avoid civilian deaths. . .

Israel surprised by number, sophistication of Gaza tunnels

While rockets and mortar fly through the sky in Gaza and southern Israel, the focus of the Jewish state’s military is underground, on the warren of tunnels they say allow Hamas operatives to move freely in and out of the Palestinian territory committing acts of terror.
Pictures released by the Israel Defense Forces show tunnels, some primitive and others sophisticated enough to include walls and ladders, running under the border from the Hamas-controlled district before they were intentionally destroyed. More than 60 access shafts leading to 28 tunnels have been uncovered since Israel’s ground operation — dubbed Operation Protective Edge — began on July 8. . .

Arms Embargo on Israel for ‘War Crimes’?

64 PUBLIC FIGURES, 7 NOBEL PEACE LAUREATES, CALL FOR ARMS EMBARGO ON ISRAEL FOR WAR CRIMES

An assortment of rabidly anti-Israel public figures, including seven Nobel Peace Prize winners, have called for an international arms embargo on Israel for its “war crimes and possible crimes against humanity” in Gaza. The statement came in a letter published in Britain’s The Guardian on Friday.

The group condemned Israeli military actions, but was silent on the thousands of rocket attacks against Israel from Gaza, the terror infrastructure Israel is battling to dismantle, and Hamas’s own tactics of using human shields, fighting from densely populated areas, or targeting civilians.

Barack Obama using FAA in ‘economic boycott of Israel’

Ted Cruz: Barack Obama using FAA in ‘economic boycott of Israel’

The State Department and Sen. Ted Cruz sparred Wednesday over the Texas Republican’s accusation that the Obama administration was trying to sabotage Israel’s economy by barring flights into Tel Aviv.
Earlier on Wednesday, the FAA announced it had extended a ban on U.S.-based airlines flying into or out of Ben Gurion International Airport for another 24 hours. The agency initially enacted the ban at noon Tuesday after a Hamas-fired rocket landed within a mile of the airport, citing the ongoing “potentially hazardous security situation created by the armed conflict between Israel and Gaza.”

Miracles in Israel?

Gaza Strip Hamas Complain, ‘Their God Changes The Paths Of Our Rockets In Mid-Air’

If you go by the headlines of local newspapers in Israel, the Jews under attack by Hamas rockets have another hidden defense: God himself. The Jewish Telegraph opens with a quote from David Ben Gurion, who once said, “In Israel, in order to be a realist, you must believe in miracles.” The article claims that even the Hamas have become frustrated with Israel’s miracles…

Those Disproportionate Numbers of the Israeli Gaza Conflict

About those disproportionate numbers in the Israeli Gaza conflict:

. . . As for the high number of Palestinian deaths, Netanyahu stressed that Israel had very clearly warned the residents of Shejaiya to evacuate days before the assault.

“We urged the civilian population to evacuate for days, through leaflets, broadcasts, telephone calls. We urged them to evacuate, because we didn’t want to see innocent civilians caught in the crossfire between Israel and Hamas,” the Israeli leader insisted. “But it is Hamas that ordered the civilians to stay put. It is Hamas that wanted those civilians to stay, so it would have a human shield for its terrorist machine.”

Israel Stands Alone

Alone but not alone. . .

“Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.”
Psalm 121: 4,5

Op-Ed: Israel Holds the Free World’s Destiny in Her Hands

These stubborn Israeli Jews are alone – alone in resisting in a battle for all of us.

The people of Israel are valiant, going about their daily lives knowing that Muslim killers might explode a bomb or rocket in any public place at any time.

Even more valiant are the Israeli soldiers, who are now fighting inside Gaza, house by house, spied on by cruel eyes, hated by old and young, targeted by beheaders, longed for by their families. These lone Jews fighting in a long night hold the free world’s destiny in their hands.

These stubborn Israeli Jews are alone – alone in resisting in a battle for all of us. It has been calculated that since the year of the founding of the state, more than 60,000 rockets have fallen on Israel. The Israelis are victimized and they are alone, abandoned by the world — now, just as then. . .

Not only are they alone, but to add insult to injury, they are interviewed by the biased media to the point of near exasperation. . .

_______

The obvious answer to the ‘disproportion’ accusation in the above clip is this:

People who complain of “asymmetry” and “disproportion”—meaning that something has to be wrong because Israelis aren’t dying—could feel somewhat better on Sunday evening, as the IDF officially announced that the total of soldiers killed since Israel invaded Gaza on Thursday night now stood at 18, 13 of them in the previous 24 hours. . .

. . .The reasons for the “asymmetry” between Israeli and Palestinian casualties should be clear by now to anyone who is informed and has a conscience. Israel invests vast sums to protect its citizens, particularly with the Iron Dome missile-defense system; Hamas positions weapons stockpiles and command centers in and under mosques, schools, and hospitals. Israel goes to extraordinary lengths to warn Gazans of impending strikes, and encourages them to leave conflict zones; Hamas orders them to stay where they are.

It gets down to the moral difference between a democratic state with a Jewish ethos and a terror organization with a jihadist ethos. But it’s a distinction to which the world seems particularly resistant.

Israel Must Destroy Hamas Tunnels—No Matter How Long It Takes

Israel Must Destroy Hamas Tunnels—No Matter How Long It Takes
by Roger L Simon

If you’re looking for a reason for the supposed impoverishment of Gaza, look no further than the maze of tunnels – some of them miles long — Hamas has built under their territory and beyond their borders into Israel. It’s the jihadist version of Boston’s “Big Dig.” The construction is so extensive that nearly every able-bodied man must have been employed in the occupation of tunnel-building, not to mention the huge diversion of funds, much of it donated by the West, for material like concrete originally trucked into Gaza by the Israelis and others for “humanitarian purposes.”

A huge complex is reported to have been built under Gaza City that houses the wealthy Hamas leadership, including Ismail Haniyeh, who is said to be a multi-millionaire. He is undoubtedly a “strong” critic of “income inequality,” along with the Hamas capo di tutti cappi Khaled Meshal, said to be a billionaire and currently residing in a luxury hotel in Qatar safely out of harm’s way.

Anti-Israel Canadians

Canadians protest military action in Gaza
Death toll in Gaza tops 330 people
The Canadian Press

ONTARIO (NEWS1130) – Hundreds of Canadians are protesting Israeli military action in Gaza with demonstrations being held today in Toronto and Montreal.
The protests are on the second day of an Israeli ground offensive that has seen the death toll in Gaza top 330 people.
In Toronto, demonstrators held signs with slogans like “Gaza needs more than our prayers,” chanting “free, free Palestine,” across the street from the Israeli Consulate.
A protest organizer says the rally aims to protest what she calls “Israel’s ongoing aggression.”
She adds that protesters reject the Canadian government’s “unwavering support” for Israel.
The Israeli military has said it has severely diminished the arsenal of Hamas, the Islamic militant group ruling Gaza, but accuses militants of continuing to fire rockets.
Similar protests were held in Vancouver last week.

Israel Attacked on Four Fronts

Israel Attacked on Four Fronts

The wreckage of earlier Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts – the Camp David Accords, Oslo, the Road Map to Peace and all the rest – was on particularly vivid display this week.

Reuters reported Monday that “at least one rocket fired from Lebanon hit northern Israel on Monday….The rocket was fired from the area around the southern city of Tyre, Lebanese security sources said.” AFP noted that “a rocket fired from Syria hit the Israeli-occupied sector of the Golan Heights on Sunday.” Rockets from Gaza continue to hit Israel despite the Israeli defensive actions. And according to Al Arabiya, “Egyptian security thwarted on Sunday an attempt to launch two rockets from Sinai at Israel.”

5 REASONS ISRAEL IS GOOD AND HAMAS IS EVIL

5 REASONS ISRAEL IS GOOD AND HAMAS IS EVIL
Ben Shapiro

Israel’s military operation into Gaza has brought out the usual chorus of outrage from anti-Israel voices in the left-wing press. CNN’s headline: “Cease-fire effort fails as rockets, airstrikes continue.” Huffington Post, in its typical, even-headed tone: “Headless Bodies. Screaming Children.”
However, with Hamas’s rejection Wednesday of a possible cease-fire agreement with Israel and its killing of an Israeli civilian, it should be clear to the world that Hamas represents the villainous party in its battle with the Jewish State. Thanks to the disreputable work of the media, however, that pertinent fact remains buried – headlines today from many major media ignored Hamas’ rejection of the ceasefire.

Israel launches large-scale ground operation in Gaza Strip

The Israeli military reportedly sent thousands of troops into the Gaza Strip Thursday as part of a large-scale ground operation aimed at destroying underground tunnels and other “terror infrastructure” used by Hamas to target the Jewish State.

The army said in a statement late Thursday that after 10 days of Hamas attacks, it had “initiated a ground operation within the Gaza Strip.” The army said the objective was to strike a “significant blow to Hamas’ terror infrastructure.”

The Insanity of Hamas’s Hatred for Israel

The Insane Hamas War
Even parts of the Arab world are saying: enough already.

Oh for a thousand. That’s Hamas’s batting average on the eighth day of what Israel calls Operation Protective Edge and what could be called the Insane Hamas War. Hamas has now fired over a thousand rockets at Israel, each time with the hope of inflicting multiple Israeli fatalities, but it still—thanks mainly, of course, to Israel’s remarkable Iron Dome missile-defense system—hasn’t inflicted a single one.

Hamas has also tried to kill Israelis with a maritime infiltration, a tunnel infiltration, and a drone launch—all foiled. . .

Why Do they Attack Israel?

Hamas’s (and Iran’s) Fail-Safe Strategy
by Caroline Glick

Peace can only come to Israel and its neighbors when the Muslim world liberates itself from its hatred of Jews.

What is Hamas doing? Hamas isn’t going to defeat Israel.
It isn’t going to gain any territory. Israel isn’t going to withdraw from Ashkelon or Sderot under a hail of rockets.
So if Hamas can’t win, why is it fighting? Why rain down destruction and misery on millions of Israelis with your Iranian missiles and your Syrian rockets and invite a counter-assault on your headquarters and weapons warehouses, which you have conveniently placed in the middle of the Palestinian people on whose behalf you are allegedly fighting?

Israel resumes airstrikes on Gaza after Hamas rejects cease-fire proposal

Israel’s military says it has resumed airstrikes on the Gaza Strip after Hamas militants rejected and violated a proposed cease-fire that was approved by Israel’s Security Cabinet.

Israeli officials said that the truce proposed by Egypt’s Foreign Ministry had been accepted by the cabinet shortly after it was due to take effect Tuesday at 9 a.m. local time (2 a.m. Eastern Time). Less than half an hour later, a senior Hamas official told The Associated Press that the group had rejected the proposal, claiming that Cairo had not consulted them.

Do You Pass the Israel Test?

The White House Stabs Israel in the Back – Again

The White House Stabs Israel in the Back —- Again

Let us engage in a brief thought experiment. Imagine if a top American official during World War II, say Eisenhower or perhaps Bradly, publically blasted Britain while British troops were slugging it out with German panzers at Caen, while British blood was being used to secure the Allies’ left flank and the roads to Paris. It is an inconceivable thought, but had it occurred, evidence of a fissure among allies would have served to embolden Hitler and would have had a devastating demoralizing effect on our British partners.

Of course, the Allies had their differences (Montgomery and Patton were notorious critics of one another) but generally kept them hush and within the family. It would be unfathomable for members of the Allied powers to publically censure one another, for such action would be deemed counterproductive. On the rare occasion where a ranking member of the Allied forces veered from accepted protocol and issued public criticism, he was scolded and quickly forced to issue a retraction or apology.

Fast forward to July 2014. . .

Lebanese rockets hit Israel as Palestinian deaths in conflict exceed 100

Rockets fired by militants in Gaza reached deeper into Israel Friday, and a strike from Lebanon hit the northern part of the country, leading Israeli officials to suspect Lebanese fighters may be joining the four-day conflict.

The Lebanese military said three rockets were fired toward Israel around 6 a.m. and the Israelis retaliated by firing about 25 artillery shells on the area. Israeli military spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner confirmed that the Israeli military had responded to the new attack with force.

Lebanese troops and United Nations peacekeepers later began searching the area, and the military said it was trying to find out who was behind the attack.

ISRAEL’S OPERATION PROTECTIVE EDGE, DAY 3: HAMAS ON ITS HEELS

TEL AVIV, Israel—On Thursday, Hamas jihadis fired 192 rockets from Gaza into Israel, according to the Israel Defense Forces. 44 were successfully intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome short-range missile defense system, while 141 of the rockets struck Israeli territory.

According to Red Alert, a free app that documents every time a missile is fired into Israel from outside of its borders, an additional three rockets were fired towards the city of Ashkelon shortly after midnight, and one more at Haifa, located more than 75 miles from Gaza. Almost 400 rockets have been fired into Israel since Operation Protective Edge began Tuesday.
